The Chihuahua's first post was an endorsement of a dog-care book written by the owner of a Maltese playmate.

Duff will soon be appearing on the big screen in the film Material Girls. She will star alongside her sister Haylie.

Hilary updated her blog on AOL's KOL service. "I am in NY now doing stuff for my new scent with Elizabeth Arden. It smells so good. I can't wait for everyone to try it. I am also here for Seventeen magazine because I am the guest editor for the October issue! My job is to create the layout and pick the topics. It's so cool and lots of hard work. At least I get to see my sister. She is flying in today because she's in a Broadway production. It opens July 18th. I can't wait. I will be there opening night with bells on. I am so proud of Haylie. Oh yeah, I spent half of the day talking to AOL and an AOL contest winner asked me some questions! Gotta get back to work. TTYL!"

ContactMusic reports HILARY DUFF insists punk rocker boyfriend JOEL MADDEN will have to put a wedding ring on her finger before he gets the chance to bed her - because she plans to stay a virgin until her wedding night. The 18-year-old pop star/actress has revealed she has never had sex and is upset when fans automatically assume she and GOOD CHARLOTTE star Madden are bedmates. She says, "It's harder having a boyfriend who's older because people just assume. "But (virginity) is definitely something I like about myself. It doesn't mean I haven't thought about sex, because everyone I know has had it and you want to fit in."

Hilary Duff (tickets | music), who spent several weeks touring Canada early in the year, will be headed back to that country for more dates later this summer, as well as a few shows on the south side of the border. The singer/actress will kick off a stretch of shows June 30 in Kelseyville, CA, before heading north for a July 22 concert in St. John's, Newfoundland, the first of four Canadian dates as Duff continues to support last year's odds-and-ends album, "Most Wanted."

Several US dates will follow, including a Sept. 24 fair appearance in Puyallup, WA.

Duff recently made news by firing back at a New York Times movie critic, Stephen Holden, who has consistently panned her acting attempts.

"He doesn't really fit the demographic," the performer told Elle magazine. "So I could really care less. Look at me, and look at where he is--sorry! Would he prefer that I take some super-adult role that is inappropriate so I would have no place to grow?

"Suppose the next thing I did was this super-edgy independent movie where I was pregnant or shooting up. What would that do to my fan base?"

Last August, Duff issued "Most Wanted," a compilation of seven previously released songs, three remixes and three original cuts. The disc sold about 100,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

Duff's most recent collection of all-new material is her self-titled sophomore set, which surfaced in 2004.

She announced she's a virgin even though she'd been dating a a famous musician for two years. Doesn't say who it is [it's Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden]. Let me tell you something, if you're dating a musician for two years and you're still a a virgin, you're dating Clay Aiken."

I can see why people wouldn't be impressed by Hilary's voice when listening to some of her more disposable songs like So Yesterday, Beat of My Heart, or Metamorphosis. But if you listen to her absolute best work, such as her second album, I think it is fair to say she is the most unique singer in today's music scene. Really well written songs make all the difference, like The Getaway, Fly, Do You Want Me, Weird, Mr. James Dean, Cry, Dangerous To Know, ect, ect. Let's hope her next cd will be as good or better than her magnificent sophomore album!
