I dunno how Benji gets through the day having Hilary Duff as a girlfriend and not being able to get jiggy. I'd resort to drugs or alcomahol until I married her.

But it's really cool that she's willing to stay like an un-opened can of coke. There's so much pressure from everywhere to knock boots and she's ignoring it all and keeping chaste till marriage.

Hilary Duff (tickets | music), who spent several weeks touring Canada early in the year, will be headed back to that country for more dates later this summer, as well as a few shows on the south side of the border. The singer/actress will kick off a stretch of shows June 30 in Kelseyville, CA, before heading north for a July 22 concert in St. John's, Newfoundland, the first of four Canadian dates as Duff continues to support last year's odds-and-ends album, "Most Wanted."

Several US dates will follow, including a Sept. 24 fair appearance in Puyallup, WA.

Duff recently made news by firing back at a New York Times movie critic, Stephen Holden, who has consistently panned her acting attempts.

"He doesn't really fit the demographic," the performer told Elle magazine. "So I could really care less. Look at me, and look at where he is--sorry! Would he prefer that I take some super-adult role that is inappropriate so I would have no place to grow?

"Suppose the next thing I did was this super-edgy independent movie where I was pregnant or shooting up. What would that do to my fan base?"

Last August, Duff issued "Most Wanted," a compilation of seven previously released songs, three remixes and three original cuts. The disc sold about 100,000 copies during its first week in stores, enough to debut at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart.

Duff's most recent collection of all-new material is her self-titled sophomore set, which surfaced in 2004.

Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Tuesday night, "In the new issue of Elle magazine, Hilary Duff announces she is a virgin. She announced she's a virgin even though she'd been dating a a famous musician for two years. Doesn't say who it is [it's Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden]. Let me tell you something, if you're dating a musician for two years and you're still a a virgin, you're dating Clay Aiken."

I can see why people wouldn't be impressed by Hilary's voice when listening to some of her more disposable songs like So Yesterday, Beat of My Heart, or Metamorphosis. But if you listen to her absolute best work, such as her second album, I think it is fair to say she is the most unique singer in today's music scene. Really well written songs make all the difference, like The Getaway, Fly, Do You Want Me, Weird, Mr. James Dean, Cry, Dangerous To Know, ect, ect. Let's hope her next cd will be as good or better than her magnificent sophomore album!

Singer/actress Hilary Duff was forced to get rid of some of her friends after they continued to betray her. Duff decided she needed to surround herself with a strong support system after catching close friends repeatedly lying to her. She explains, "They would lie to me, and I'd keep catching them and finally I thought, 'Why am I having these people around?' It's hard to say, 'Ok, I don't want to be your friend anymore. I'm kicking you out of my life', but slowly, over time, I did it."

Now that she has a positive support system surrounding her, she also has more time for herself. She adds, "I got to do a lot of soul searching, and I feel like a happier person. It's important to be able to be alone with yourself."

World Entertainment News Network reports Hilary Duff is sensitive to tabloid's running photos about her being too heavy or too thin. "I was in Canada filming 'The Perfect Man' and I put on this outfit that I thought was really cute and creative: jeans, a tank top and a scarf tied around my waist," Duff explained. "It was windy and the scarf was blowing away from me. At the time I wasn't skinny, but I wasn't fat either, and this magazine comes out saying, 'Hilary Duff Puffs Up'. I was so embarrassed!" Duff returned to Los Angeles and began losing weight with help of Pilates, only to see another magazine running a headline reading: 'Oh, No! Now Hilary's a Stick Figure'. Duff fumed, "You can never make those people happy, so you just have to make yourself happy!"
