Steven Gerrard is without doubt one of the best English players around. The midfield that he makes with Lampard of Chelsea in the Englandteamis a world beater in my opinion. They, together with Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, John Terry and Sol Campbell are the best player that English have to offer and are all more talented and more important to the set-up than David Beckham, who's past his sell by date in my opinion.

Steven Gerrard however, is clearly wasted at Liverpool, who despite many 'Spanish' additions to their squad, still can't perform anywhere near their potential. Therefore, I predict that Gerrard will be leaving Liverpool soon, but to where, I don't know...

Holland has a better team I think

they have starplayers like: Van Nistelrooij, Robben, Makaay,Davids,Van Hooijdonk, Van der Vaart and new young players like Castelena and Kuijt

but we are about the same..few aging players few bright youngsters...in other words not the best team in the world...plus i tink i am less bias then you as ma aunt is dutch and im english and ma fave player is dutch....the silent master dennis bergkamp...

i am a liverpool fan and gerrard is by far not the best player in the world. there are too many players to name that are better than him.

Gerrard is no doubt an awesome player and, in my opinion, is the primary reason Liverpool still has a degree of success.

Michael Owen's my favourite English player, though. Liverpool could sure use him back.

Anyways, Gerrard is a hard-working midfielder. Not as hard-working as my personal favorite Robbie Savage, but...

ahhh...well henry was a midfielder..well sorta b4 he came to arsenal...he made his name as a winger...........and i know bad example....plus gerrard does so much for the reds im surprised he aint a stiker....he is like der best defender, midfeilder and striker
