I'm guessing there arn't alot of baseball fans here, but i felt this topic was needed. Probably will die in a week, but its worth a shot. For all you baseball fans, talk about your favorite team, or agrue with others about a rivalry... or whatever. I'm a die hard redsox fan, so if you want to talk smack to me bring it original.gif Anyways

After the first 2 months of the seasons, the current teams are in first place in their respective divisions

AL

EAST - Baltimore Orioles
WEST - Texas Rangers
CENTRAL - Chicago White Sox

NL

EAST - Florida Marlins
WEST - San Deigo Padres
CENTRAL - ST. Louis Cardinals

Poor cubbies, i feel for them. They arnt doing half bad though considering all the injuries they have. I think the only chance for them to make the playoffs is to go through the NL Wildcard, St. Louis is just too good.

I hope Mark Prior and Kerry Wood come back soon. I'm still hoping Nomar Garciaparra will return as well. I think they could make the playoffs as a wild card.

sweet this thread is really taking off *rolls eyes*

~the cubs suck. with the two loses today that makes like 9 in a row. good thing i hate them.
~~so exicted for the all-star break. this is my 2nd favorite all-star weekend (behind NHL). i think they got it right with most of the selections. hopefully the canadian boys(jason bay mainly) can do something impressive and get more fans behind them. hopefully the doctor (roy halladay) will get the start and own everyone.
~~~playoffs... i will go with:
AL--> red sox, white sox, angels, twins/oriles/blue jays for wild card.
NL--> nationals, cardinals, san diego, the marlins as wild card.
Who won the All stars game on Wednesday and what was the score?...couldn't watch it all because it was around 5am UK time that it finished and I was so tired.
That Home run Derby was fun to watch biggrin.gif and congrats to that bobby guy who won it
And also, don't you think ESPN commentators blab on too much? At least the UK presenters were more enjoyable to listen to ermm.gif
Only returning the good graces england did for us after 9/11 paul. thanks for the support. As for the score- 9-4 i think... im not sure. I bet $100 on the game and ended up winning $300, so it was a fun game to watch indeed. And "that bobby guy" is Bobby Abreu from the Phillies, probably one of the most underrated players in the game.
Zach... sry about what my sox did to your cards last october man.. but we were due!
Ya, i placed a bet that the AL would win, then parlaied (thats tieing another bet into that bet) that the total runs scored would be over 9.5. If i had lost either, i would have lost the 100 dollars, but both outcomes were the same, so i won big. tongue2.gif
Paul, it may be great that Clemens is playing once a week at 42, but being from GA, (the state, not the country), Julio Franco is playing 3-4 times a week, batting .270, and he is 47, yes, 47 years old.
Speaking of the Braves, former Brave Greg Maddux is a hall of famer no doubt, however, his streak of 17 straight 15+ wins in a season is in jeopardy... confused.gif
