Spotted smooching in Cannes, France in May, Lohan and Ronson were hesitant to show affection. "That's a tense kiss - they know they're doing it for the public," Glass says of the first time the pair was snapped as a couple. "They weren't very comfortable with each other and it shows."

"Their legs are in sync, but Lindsay is trying to step out ahead," Glass tells Us. "She's ignoring Sam and Sam's very uncomfortable. There's not a lot of comfort there, because Lindsay can't really be herself. Maybe she can privately, but not publicly."

"They're in step and relaxed," Glass tells Us of the pair at LAX airport August 8. "It's a good sign - they're on the same page and seem to be headed in the right direction. Lindsay looks a lot more at peace now than she has in the past."

Though Lohan appeared carefree at Ronson's 31st birthday party, Glass explains that the couple is still tentative with their actions in public. "Even though their hands are intertwined, it's awkward," she says.

Ronson leads here, says Glass, while her girlfriend plays coy. "Lindsay is trying to cater to the [cameras], asking them 'do you know for sure [if we're together]?' Lindsay knows that they're an item, but...is leaving something to the imagination, so to speak."

"RELAXED BUT STILL IN HIDING"
During a West Hollywood shopping trip August 16, the couple held hands but kept them hidden. "That's a very big deal," Glass says. "It's kind of like they're still in hiding although they seem very relaxed with each other."

Samantha's being completely opposite, doing her best to keep the distance and look down. She's just trying to make like there's nothing going on and playing cat and mouse."

Sorry, but I agree with Blueboy on this one. There's been alot of this "body language" rubbish in the trashloids, no just about Linds & Sam but other "couples" too. Whatever happened to common sense? You can tell Lindsay and Sam are comfortable with each other and enjoy each other's company by the amount of time they spend with each other. Do I get to call myself "Dr" and get awarded squillions of $$$$$ for my analysis? I don't think so.

Just a few pictures while they are being hounded by paps won't tell you anything except a few hints about their relationship with the media. That's why Sam often looks especially uncomfortable, not because she's with Lindsay.
