Lindsay Lohan is following up her crazy year by joining a cult—in a new movie role, that is. E! News has learned exclusively that Lindsay Lohan has signed on to star as Nancy Pittman, once a loyal member of Charles Manson's not-so-merry band, in the movie Manson Girls. The film's director, Brad Wyman of Junction Films, confirmed the casting coup. "Yes, I am doing it with Lindsay," he tells E! News. A source familiar with the deal says that despite the fact that Lohan has had some recent brushes with the law and just completed rehab, "the production company is insuring her for the film." As E! News first reported, before shooting Manson Girls Lohan will shoot the offbeat comedy Ye Olde Times with Jack Black and David Arquette this spring. That film is due out in 2009. Pittman grew up in wealthy household in Malibu, and at 16 she was introduced to Manson by a friend, according to published reports. She fell under his spell, moving in with him and becoming one of his most ardent followers. She was home with Manson on the night he dispatched members of his "Family" to the former home of ex-business associate Terry Mechler, where they ended up brutally killing actress Sharon Tate and four others. Pittman later became involved with the Aryan Brotherhood and served 18 months in prison after being convicted of being an accessory after the fact to murder. She later married one of her coconspirators, divorced and moved to Oregon with her two children. Attempts to reach Pittman were not immediately successful. Lohan next appears opposite Jared Leto in what should be another heart-tugging true-life tale: Chapter 27, a film examining the life of John Lennon killer Mark David Chapman and opening in limited release this weekend. Sounds like it could be a very disturbing and controversial film and if she handles it correctly could be just the kind of project to start turning her career around.

it'll be a nice contrast to the comedy she's doing before it. i'm happy she's actually picking seemingly good/decent sounding projects instead of stuff like "i know who killed me"

Number of downloads: 3real Nancy Pitman Nancy Laura Pitman was born on January 1, 1951 to an engineer father and a mink-clad, high-society mother. She and her two younger brothers grew up in affluence in Malibu, California. Yet life in the Pitman home was apparently not as ideal as it may have seemed from the outside. According to the 1973 documentary MANSON, Nancy left home to join the Family at 16 because "I had nothing to keep me there. It wasn't a family; we just occupied the same house." Despite her young age, the former Malibu surfer girl quickly became one of the most hardcore members of the Family. She was present when Charles Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian came back to Spahn's Ranch after their night of murder and mayhem at the home of Sharon Tate on August 9, 1969. It is also widely believed that she went back to the actress's house with Manson later that night to survey the crime scene and leave false clues to throw off the police. Brenda, as she had come be called in the Family, managed to make quite a few headlines during the Tate-LaBianca trial. She wasn't part of the trial itself, but she was one of the most loyal and visible amongst the girls who sat day and night outside the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles. During this nine-month period she was arrested for trying to pass Charlie a tab of LSD in the LA County Jail's visiting room. Not long after that she was arrested on a forgery charge. Instead of facing her jail time, though, she went underground, literally, living in the city's sewers with fellow Family fugitive Bruce Davis. The two of them, obviously stoned out of their minds at the time, surrendered to police in December 1970. After the trial was over Brenda and Squeaky moved in with Aryan Brotherhood members Michael Monfort and James Craig in a house in Stockton. When another housemate's body turned up in the basement, Brenda was promptly arrested and spent a year in jail for being an accessory after the fact to the murder of 19-year-old Lauren Willett. She later married Monfort (who was still imprisoned at the time) and they had four children. Today she is divorced, living in Oregon, and has disassociated herself completely from Manson |

OMG! I cannot believe Lindsay got this role! This is crazy! I mean Im overjoyed! this has made my day! I swear 2 god almost 2 years ago I was watching E! true hollywood sharon tate story, and I thought it was an amazing story but also extremly tragic how she died. and in my head I thought this womans life seriously should be made into a movie! and the guy charles manson and his crew were so evil 2 me how the worshiped the devil. and I thought it was crazy how he had 3 wives. and they followed everything he said, like he hypnotized them or something. But for some reason, I thought lindsay would be perfect to play the role nancy pittman. they said she was the most ruthless wife and she was attractive. I was like If they ever make a film, linds would be perfect to play her! It would be a more mature role that would show alot of her range but I also thought it would kind of scare people to see her in a role so...evil. But kind of love her for doing somethig so hardcore. so a year later I go to E! online and...BOOM! there it is! I was so shocked! I had no Idea this would happened. I just thought it would be a perfect role for her and she actually got it! CRAZY! |

Oops gotcha lol I just checked his IMDB and he was one of the producers of Monster (2003). Charlize Theron won Best Actress for her performance. He's done a lot of films with good actors but the IMDB grading for them isn't very high. Heather Graham, Charlie Sheen, Christina Ricci, Carol Kane (Lindsays COATDQ co-star lol), . He produced Freeway which starred Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland. I dunno we'll just have to wait and see I guess. I wanna find out who co-stars. I just checked IMDB pro, not a single sign of this project. Nothing to be found on that title, nothing on the director page and nothing on the Junction Films page. Neither Hollywood Reporter or Variety have a news article on a movie like this so at this time this movie is far from confirmed.

What does that have to do with anything? Even independent movies get listed on sites like IMDB or Hollywood Reporter. Even independent movies have production companies, independent means not connected to one of the major studios.

Number of downloads: 1People also confirms it QUOTE Lindsay Lohan: Back in the Oscar race? Lindsay Lohan just nabbed the lead role in "Manson's Girls," which will be produced by Brad Wyman and Donald Kushner, who previously produced "Monster," which earned an Oscar for Charlize Theron. "Manson's Girls" tells the monstrous story of Charles Manson through the eyes of Lohan's character — Nancy Pitman, one of the cult fiend's former girlfriends who remained one of his fiercest disciples throughout his bloody reign. It's unclear to what extent she may have participated in the killings that he inspired, but, after Manson was arrested, she passed out pamphlets, hoisted placards and sang in public of her undying support. The role penned by writer-director Matthew Bright ("Freeway") has such emotional gravitas it could put her back in the race for serious awards.-latimes This is so 'Monster' yepp that the first thing I can think of this movie but same producer? urgh randommm much movie start shooting July 21 This post has been edited by blueboy: Mar 28 2008, 10:15 AM |

Finally, she is doing films with some substance not the sticky sweet Disney rubbish that she started off with, like someone else is doing. Thankfully, she is not doing the HSM rubbish that is reserved for the 'Hanna Montana'-type sugary sweet. She should have won an award for Georgia Rule. This is her calling, playing disturbed women. |
