This topic is for all fans in the forum of the t.v. show Sex & the City. If you are like me, you CANNOT wait for the film release on May 30th, 2008 (U.S.). I must say I'm a bit worried about that date being pushed back since the film distributor is New Line Cinema, which just recently merged with Warner Bros. Studios. So this topic is for discussion of the show and the film and the empire that is Sex and the City. Feel free to leave your favorite quotes from the show and discussion based on the series.

with the show being over for 4 years now, how do you think the movie will do (with most likely an R rating)? I think it will do great and I think it will actually be number 1 at the box office with an estimated $34,000,000 it's opening weekend.

Considering the number of people who have been waiting for this movie to finally happen, I'd be really surprised if it bombed.

I've seriously never seen even a minute of this show

I tried watching it 2-3 times, just can't get into it. My parents love it, I imagine they will be seeing this in theatres.

according to a rep for Kristin Davis, the woman in the photos, although very similar in appearance to Kristin, is not her.

Looking at the trailer I don't see this becoming a success, for several reasons:

1. It's exactly the same as the TV show so only people that still love that show would want to see it.
2. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Catrell have lost what little sex appeal they had. If there ever was any.
3. The story in general just seems boring.

I watched the show at times years ago when there was nothing else on, but that was really the only reason to watch it.

I dont understand how it wont become a success and if you even watched the show you would be excited for it and there are thousands of people if not millions who have been waiting for this. The movie looks far different from the show. I've watch the entire series about 5 times through. Why would it try to be any different anyways? It's a continuation of the show. You just shoot anything down that you don't have any interest in. I've seen you do it everywhere in this forum.

So you're not allowing me to give my honest opinion about something? I have an interest in movies, if I don't have an interest in something I don't comment on it. Plenty of topics on this forum I haven't posted in.

I just told you that I did watch the show at times. And the main reason why it won't be a success is because it's too long after the show, a lot of those fans of the old days will have lost interest now.

I don't really think fans have lost interest, and I know the shows even gained some new fans since having had re-runs of the series on tbs. We shall see opening week. I smell number 1 at the box office, but thats just me.

SO yeah I already purchased my tickets for this and they are SELLING OUT like crazyyy. Since Monday some of the theatres had a few times crossed out due to sell-outs and I am sure by tomorrow night it will get worse. Anyone planning to see this Friday? If so I suggest ordering online instead of showing up randomly, because chances are you won't get in. It's no doubt going to hit number 1.
