This is part of the Harper’s Bazaar interivew that I thought deserved it’s own post because it’s so great.

Lindsay is as keen to work behind the camera as in front of it. She and Muro have been reviewing scripts for potential film or television projects for her company, Crossheart Productions. Getting a meeting with Tim Burton is a priority in the new year since he’s slated to direct Alice in Wonderland, and Lindsay is set on scoring the lead. In fact, that’s why she’s sporting the blonde locks. "I hope they don’t want an unknown," she says, distressed at the very possibility, twisting a forefinger around a thick platinum wave.

Tim Burton (’Sweeny Todd’, ‘Corpse Bride’) is making a new 3-D adaptation of ‘Alice in Wonderland’ for Disney. The movie will combine performance-capture imagery, such as that in Beowulf, with live-action fottage. The script is being written by Linda Woolverton (of ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’). The new film is set to film in the early part of this year with an expected release date of 2010. Casting has not been announced, so Lindsay still has a shot!

Her hair has been blonde for ages now, it most certainly is not for a role in Alice. Maybe she's eying the role but her hair colour surely isn't a factor in that. Tim Burton always works with tons of makeup, wigs, etc. so it's not really the director that selects people on hair colour.

Does he really have to ruin yet another part of my childhood

It would be a great role to get, but I have my doubts

Tim Burton is a cinematic genius, guess we will have to wait and see if he picks her for the part.

Don't forgot though that Lindsay + Disney = Disney Magic. Herbie Fully Loaded still made 145 million worldwide at the box office. Kids love her even if they know she is bad offscreen. Her energy and her being so "alive" onscreen is captivating. I was reading this tween girls magazine Total Girl coz I was bored in the newsagent a few weeks ago and all the stories about her are negative. BUT, even in 2006 when it was just after she put on weight and going through all those issues, they still (the kids) gave her the Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie Actress and she won the Australian Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie Actress too. She's the queen of Disney remakes.

That is assuming Burton can convince Disney to allow Lindsay to work for them again, not sure that's possible. At the very least it would be a step in the right direction for repairing her battered career.

I don't think kids mind her problems as much as their parents do lol

I'm not putting much faith in this role, though. It would be awesome, sure, but the project seems to be in a very early stage and they might want a younger actress to play Alice.

Actually my top two choices for this role would be Evan Rachel Wood and Anna Sophia Robb, that should make Trent happy.

That's sounds pretty neat. I hope it gonna happen.

Anna Sophia Robb is ok too. And may be Jodelle Ferland or Saoirse Ronan as well .

Just mean they're both slender blondes who look like they could pull off a slightly insane little girl trapped in a nightmare world.

I'm not sure what the age of the the Alice character is. But I guess LL would indeed be too old for it. Burton likes to work with people he has worked with before, so in that sense AnnaSophia would have a good chance.

well she is the remake queen so if she does get the role, it cant go too bad

In the book which came after Alice in Wonderland called Through the Looking Glass Alice says she is 7 and a half exactly. Alice In Wonderland it set six months before so Alice is 7...but she does act much older...
Obviously that doesn't mean Burton will use a seven year old kid

Me knowing that just shows how much i grew up with this story and after Burton's last effort i'm not full of any hope for this being any good

Never realised Alice is that young. They would use someone older but not too old is my guess. So probably between twelve and fourteen. Pretty much means that Lindsay has no chance in hell. Actually she shouldn't be considered for the role at all. It would just be an insult to the novel if they considered Lindsay.

I think it's going to be a great movie

I think this is the kind of movie Lindsay has to do but i don't see her as Alice and unfortunately there isn't that many other people characters in it. The only other characters she could be would be The Queen of Hearts or The Duchess. I can't see her as the queen and The Duchess is damn ugly
