El director mexicano Alfonso Arau externó su deseo de que la actriz estadounidense Lindsay Lohan se recupere pronto para iniciar el rodaje de su próxima cinta Dare to Love Me, sobre la vida del cantautor argentino Carlos Gardel.

Las filmaciones empezarían el mes de septiembre, sin embargo Arau está dispuesto a empezar el rodaje el mes de octubre para dar tiempo a Lohan de recuperarse de sus problemas.

COMO AGUA PARA CHOCOLATE is a great movie, and was nominated for many awards, it has also won many others. On the other hand, ZAPATA has been criticized badly. anyway Alfonso Arau is a well known producer. I don't know if DARE TO LOVE ME will be a huge movie to Hollywood, but certainly it has a lot of posibilities to shine in the rest of the world... I read on the Elle interview that she would like to work with Alfonso Cuarón (mexican Director/ Producer - Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban)... maybe she wants to go for CANNES in France (wich I consider better award than the Oscar, .. but this is just my opinion)

Zinelli and Macaggi bring other data confirming that La Ritana was Garesio's woman, owner of the Chantecler on 440 Paraná street. «Precisely –so they say- it is with Garesio that appears the third party of a classic love triangle that would give rise to a violent conflict». According to those authors this was the true reason of that attempt on Gardel's life that took place in December 1915, the latter had to hire Juan Ruggiero, aka Ruggierito to «dissuade» Garesio from making new aggressions.

This episode that took place in the early morning of a Saturday on December 11, 1915, was never properly cleared up. The daily paper La Nación on its issue the following day published news of the event informing that the wounded person had been taken to the hospital Juan A. Fernández, and that he was seriously wounded. On Monday 13 the morning paper La Prensa also wrote about the event and the name of the aggressor: Roberto Guevara. Many years later, On August 21, 1963, the Leoplán magazine published this commentary: «Professor Dr. Ricardo Donovan recalled at a class of Surgical Pathology in 1948, that being an intern at the Hospital Ramos Mejía, he examined the wound Gardel had and he verified that his left lung had been punctured and there was no way out hole; the subsequent favorable evolution of the case convinced the surgeons not to remove the bullet that so it stayed in his chest for all his lifetime.»

The presence of La Ritana in Gardel's life is confirmed by Isabel del Valle herself:

«-Answering your question I'm going to tell you about the case of a woman that, as far as I know, had a relationship with Carlos. Her name was Ritana or so she was called. I can already see Argentineans whining because Gardel will be played by an Italian, hopefully it won't be as bad as it was when Madonna was set to play Evita. That said, I hope everything works out with this movie, if only to see Lindsay dancing tango for five minutes.

To be honest, I generally don't worry about new writers. You never know when a new talent will come along and sometimes even the most skilled writers get trapped in a clichéd story that just plain sucks. I Know Who Killed Me had a lot more going on than just an unexperienced writer, such as the backslash against LL and the movie being mislabeled as another "torture porn" flick.

I'm thinking Dare to Love Me will most likely debut in some international film festival. I just hope they don't rely on the whole "Lohan plays a prostitute" thing to market this movie in North America, like IKWKM was "the movie where Lohan plays a stripper and has a sex scene".

Well Lindsay will not be in the movie the whole time since she will get shot in the middle of the movie. But possible people categorized her as a prostitute character since she's one.

The writer really isn't something to worry about, if the script wouldn't be good enough the studio wouldn't buy it. If a bad script is made it's more the producers fault than that of the writer.

Never understood why filmmakers make a movie before securing financing for marketing and production after the film is done, oh well not my money!
