Lindsay Lohan and Colin Farrell have both boarded writer/director Neil Jordan's "Borgia", a long-gestating drama about the internal struggles of the most powerful family in 15th century Rome. Jordan ("Breakfast on Pluto") wrote and will direct "Borgia" with Jack Rapke, Christopher Eberts, Alexandra Milchan and Chris Roberts producing the film. Jordan has written a script filled with betrayal, backstabbing and murder, within a family that aspired to be the most powerful clan of the Renaissance. This is the third time the project has been put into production, in 2002 the project was announced with Ewan McGregor and Christina Ricci attached to star until financing fell through and the project was shelved until in late 2005 when Colin Farrell and Scarlett Johansson expressed interest in being a part of the film. Finacing then fell through again and Johansson exited the project, however Farrell stayed attached. The project was shelved until late 2006 when Jordan met with excutives at Warner Independent Pictures who agreed to give the project finacial backing and US distribution. "Borgia" tells the story of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia, a powerful man who took over papal duties after the death of the pope in 1492. There's no word yet on who will star as Rodrigo Borgia. Lohan will play Rodrigo's daughter Lucrezia Borgia, who's torn between her family duties and a desire to find true love. Farrell will play Rodrigo's youngest son Cesare, a duplicitous and manipulative sibling who considers himself his sister's closest confidante. Colin Farrell is currently filming "In Bruges" with Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes and shall film the Iraq-set action drama "The Hurt Locker" in the late spring. Lindsay Lohan has completed work of Tri-Star thriller "I Know Who Killed Me" and is about to co-star with Keira Knightley and Cillian Murphy in romantic/drama "The Best Time of Our Lives" for Capitol Films which starts filming this May. "Borgia" has no start date yet but it is expected to begin filming in Rome, Italy in late 07. There is no source mentioned. I got this from Lindsay's IMDB board. |

I read a book on that family, by Mario Puzo if I'm not mistaken. I seem to remember Lucrezia and Cesare kinda having an incestuous affair lol

wooaahh,i like it! with colin farrell? crazy!! another rumour film Peace, Love, and Bad Acid Out of rehab, Lindsay Lohan tells us she's eyeing an onscreen role in Chris Siverston's ''Hippy'' that's not exactly clean and sober By Mike Bruno The newly rehabbed Lindsay Lohan says she's enjoying sobriety — off-camera, at least. As for her on-screen life, the actress tells EW she can't wait to delve into the drug-addled world director Chris Siverston is creating for his next movie, which is currently titled Hippy. Although the project is still in its embryonic stage, Lohan had such a great experience working with the director on the upcoming movie I Know Who Killed Me, she's already set to take another trip with him. ''I have so much faith in [Siverston], just as a person, and I just love working with him,'' Lohan told EW. ''I love him [so much] as a person, that while we were on set, I was like, 'Let's make a deal right now.''' Details on the movie's plot are scant at this point, but Lohan basically describes it as being about a group of kids taking a cross-country trip when one of them drops acid, goes crazy, ''and starts, like, killing people.'' Lohan says that Hippy will reunite her and Siverston with Marc Senter, who is starring alongside Lohan in I Know Who Killed Me and previously starred in Siverston's 2005 horror drama, The Lost. ''The Lost is such a good film,'' Lohan says. ''That was the one that I first saw before working with [Siverston]. I think Chris is going to be huge. I have no doubt in my mind about that.'' Could this Lohan/Siverston/Senter connection be a new Scorsese-like Hollywood clique in the making? ''I'm all for it,'' Lohan laughs. ''Not that I wouldn't love to work with Scorsese also.''
