LM needs more cappers to keep the site active. I just can't keep up with it.

I'll hopefully have TRL up this weekend. I do have a bunch of other shows with her (Access, E!, ET, etc) but no time to do it.

It would be so cool if you put TRL and the other shows on....I would help you out...but I cant...we cant see this shows in Germany

the word he said was "cappers" and that is basicaly technical jargon. The simplist explination i can think of is that "capping" a show means to record it onto your computer, and then format it. In order to do that you need a TV tuner card for your computer and a whole lot of software. Because dave is awesome, he has that. Because no one else is awesome, we dont have that =/

Basically it comes down to the extra free time he has. If he can take a recorded show, format it, and then upload it then he will usually upload it. If he dosnt have time, he wont. Basically it's like this for those wondering:

TV - need the channel
PC - need a cap card and plenty of hard drive space.

From there it's all a matter of time. I have this setup to do 53 files a week. On my spare time (weekends now), I look through the vids.

Here's the steps it takes to get her to you.

TV - Schedule any shows she might or will be on.
PC - Record show. -- takes a lot of HD space. figure 5.7GB/hr.
Scan - Scan the files to see if she was on. <-- very time consuming but I manage to do this.
Copy - If she is, copy her segment to a new file, delete original file. (save space)
Edit - Edit the file to take out any commercials/whatever
Encode - Encode file to make it smaller <-- time consuming
Upload - Upload file. Self-explanitory <-- time consuming. slow connect.
Add - Add the file to LM.

Edit, Encode, Upload is where the slow down is because there's just no time to do it. But yes, I have plenty of vids with Lindsay. Which ones to upload in my free time is also a problem. That is why we need more ppl to do this.
